The Dutch circuitpark Zandvoort has finally got it's long awaited permission to start with the much needed extension of it's race track. The pit complex has already been rebuilt and now it is time to start working on the track. Construction work will start after this race season that starts this weekend with the traditional Easter races. The new circuit will have a length of 4250 meter and will be suited to host big international motorsport events. Return of Formula 1 to The Netherlands is the long term goal. The complete restructuring of the track will cost a total of 10 million Dutch Guilders. If Formula 1 was indeed to return to The Netherlands than more restructuring will be necessary, like shifting up the Hugenholtz corner.
