For the fourth time this season in six races Mika Hakkinen finished first in the Monaco Grand Prix. He dominated the race and led from start to finish.

Second was a strong driving Fisichella before Eddie Irvine who drove a lonesome race.
Surprising and a very strong performance did the Arrow drivers with Mika Salo finishing fourth and Pedro Diniz finishing also in the points on the sixth place. Jacques Villeneuve completed the top six, finishing 5th. He did a one pitstop race with a remarkable late pitstop.
