In their preparation to the Grand Prix of Monaco, Ferrari has done an intensive test program last week. Michel Schumacher made his laps on their home circuit at Fiorano, while Eddy Irvine tested on Magny-Cours. Schumacher tested several Goodyear tires and different set-ups in an attempt to close the gap with the Mclaren team. During the test it was clear that they made progress when Irvine was faster than David Coulthard while he was only 3 tenth of a second behind Mika Häkkinen.
