Today was the first day of the Benetton Playlife testsession that is staged this entire week on the circuit of Jerez in Southern Spain. Jos will come into action for the team this week together with Giancarlo Fisichella. On this first day of the test session it was Jos' turn to drive on the circuit that still was dusty and dirty. Giancarlo Fisichella will be driving for the first time tomorrow, together with Jos. Jos will also drive on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday Jos will perform the shake-down for the team in preparation for the Monaco Grand Prix on May 24.

The Benetton Playlife is present with several test cars and one race car. Because not all parts were available immediately Jos couldn't drive that many laps today, 27 in total. Besides that the car was in the pit box for some two hours because of minor technical adjustments. Jos was satisfied with the car. The car is very quick, but because the track was still dirty Jos couldn't go flat out immediately. Jos' seat position in the car is satisfactory and the team hasn't tested any specific parts today. Jos drove with a lot of fuel and hard tyres and set a time of 1:29.7.
