Mika Hakkinen was fastest again in the ...

Mika Hakkinen was fastest again in the warm-up session this morning. The Finn set a time of 1m22.460s with which he just outpaced teammate David Coulthard. The honours for the best non-McLaren driver went to Giancarlo Fisichella in the Benetton.
This morning only 21 drivers took part in the warm-up which means that the Tyrrell talent Ricardo Rosset is definitively a non-starter this weekend. In principle the teams have the possibility to claim 'Force Majeure' in case a driver does not meet the 107 percent rule, but apparently this was not granted.

For a complete overview of all results you can take a look at our season page.

Yesterday we spoke with Jos in the Kartcentre in Echt (NL). He told us that he will not only drive on Monday and Tuesday but also on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday Jos will do a short shake down test for one of the race cars. The cars Jos and Giancarlo Fisichella will drive are the test cars of the team and not the ones that are used this weekend by Wurz and Fisichella. It was obvious that Verstappen was very much looking forward to driving the Benetton Playlife again. Unfortunately he couldn't give us an answer to the burning question of whether he was to drive any races this year. The familiar answer was again: "We are still talking to several teams".
