Today Jos Verstappen has spent a good deal of his day at the Stewart factory in Milton Keynes, England. One of the things he did was have a new seat fitted. Changes have been made tot the pedal box so Jos has some more space for his feet in the car. The remainder of the day was spent getting to know the employees of Stewart. On Thursday Jos will set course for Magny Cours in preparation for the next Grand Prix.

Craig Pollock, teammanager of the Tyrrell/BAR team, announced on Tuesday that the team will be using Supertec Sport engines at least for the 1999 and 2000 season. Supertec buys it engines from Mecachrome, which in turn are actually Renault Sport engines. Confused...? Pollock on his new deal: "With Supertec Sport, the team that will begin competing in 1999 will be assured of being powered by a highly competitive engine benefiting from Renault Sport technology that has produced five Drivers' and six Constructors' Championships in Formula One since 1992."

Honda seems to be on course for a return to Formula 1 next year. It is said that Honda is likely to test it's new Formula 1 car this autumn. As possible test drivers for this new car the names of Alessandro Zanardi and Toranosuke Takagi are mentioned.

Prost will not use it's newly designed long wheelbase car at the French Grand Prix. Olivier Panis and Jarno Trulli, who both tested the car last week at Magny-Cours, were not happy with the new design. Observers at the track had noticed that the new car seemed nervous. New rear suspension parts, supplied by the B3 company of John Barnard, will be used though at the next Grand Prix.
