Despite the good results during testing last week at Monza Ferrari has for now decided against using the new chassis with the longer wheelbase. The car was about 4/10th of a second faster per lap and Eddie Irvine was optimistic about the new chassis. Ferrari on the other hand still wants the chassis to make more 'flight hours' before using it in a Grand Prix. Possibly Ferrari will use the chassis for the first time at the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, a circuit with comparable characteristics to that of Monza.
