Schumacher did what he had to do: Win! After a good start with few problems it seemed like the McLaren's would be off to another 1-2. After the second stop Schumacher took the lead though and despite a third stop he won. Hakkinen got engine problems and fell back to a sixth position and was even lapped by Schumacher. Coulthard finished second and was followed by Villeneuve (third), Hill (fourth) and Frentzen on fifth position.

Jos finished at a thirteenth spot and 3 laps behind Michael Schumacher. At first Barrichello was in front of Jos, but unfortunately he (again) suffered gearbox problems.

Quote of Jos after the race: "I didn't get away to the best of starts because I found the car difficult to drive on the first set of tyres. I didn't feel like I could catch the people in front. We adjusted the pressure on the second set which helped a little but throughout the race the steering was very heavy. My arms are really sore and because the track is so bumpy my head was rocked about quite a lot. I felt like I was getting hit by Mike Tyson every lap. On the positive side, it's important for the team to get a race finish."

The team is ofcourse pleased with the finish of Jos and disappointed in the retirement of Rubens. The car obviously still has "handling problems" according to Paul Stewart. Also look at the season page

This week the Stewart team will again be testing at the circuit of Silverstone. Jos will drive on Wednesday and Rubens Barrichello will test on Thursday.
