After the race we shortly spoke with Jos who remained optimistic for tomorrow. During the morning session, Jos spinned off the track which caused that he could only drive a few laps: "This morning the brake balance was not good, therefor I lost control and I went beside the track".

The gap to his teammate Rubens Barrichello was very big during the morning session. In the afternoon session Jos was able to get closer to Rubens, however at the end of the day there was still one second in between both drivers :"Rubens and I tried a different set-up this morning. It was clear that Rubens his set-up was much better so we changed it more according to his car. Also we changed the front-wheel suspension in the afternoon which went very well."

Barrichello will be using the new chassis (-04) while Jos will be using an older one (-02), Jos stated: "The new chassis creates better mechanical grip. However I was able to complete a lot of laps, constantly improving my times. However my brakes were still not optimal, so I should be able to improve tomorrow."

The Stewart-Ford team today announced that Rubens will remain with the team for next season. There were some rumours going on that he would change to Williams or BAR creating a possibility for Jos to drive for Stewart next year. Jos remained calm with the information stating: "We saw it coming so it was no big surprise to us. Anyhow, we will concentrate on the possibilities within the Formula 1 for next season."
