The new British American Racing team has appointed Jerry Forsythe as team director. Forsythe is unknown in Formula One, but has lots of experience in de US CART-series with his own team.

Co-owner of BAR Craig Pollock explained : "Jerry Forsythe joining us makes the British American Racing Board much stronger. He has been very successful in the CART series, running the Player’s Forsythe team, with drivers Greg Moore and Patrick Carpentier. Jerry’s lengthy expertise as an entrepreneur and team leader in the world of open-wheeled racing is a valuable addition to our board."

It's clear that BAR wants to have a good first season. Who the second driver - next to Jacques Villeneuve - will be, still remains the question ...
