Today the official announcement was done that Heinz-Harald Frentzen has signed with Jordan in 1999, alongside Damon Hill. It is now expected that Ralf Schumacher will sign with Williams and so the Germans will trade places. Jordan has also confirmed that Damon Hill will stay with the team in 1999. Teamboss Eddie Jordan: "Obviously I'm delighted Damon will be with us for what we both believe will be a realistic opportunity for him to add a second world title to his 22 Grands Prix victories. The addition of Heinz-Harald, already a Grand Prix winner illustrates just how serious Benson & Hedges Jordan is about contesting the World Championship. This is without a doubt our strongest-ever driver pairing and while we still have plenty to achieve in 1998, I am already looking forward to 1999."

Also not a very surprise was the announcement of Jordan today that technical director Gary Anderson will leave the team. Since the signing of Mike Gascoyne, who came from Tyrrell, a break up between Jordan and Anderson was expected. Anderson will most likely go to Arrows where Tom Walkinshaw is on the verge of sacking John Barnard.
