Jos tested intensively today on the circuit of Monza in Italy. The session was used to test several new parts on the car like a new rear wing, new brakes, different tyres and lots of different shock absorbers. The team is making good progress, almost every change they make to the car appears to be an improvement. The top speed of Jos in the Stewart-Ford was only 4 km/h slower than the top speed of the McLaren. The motor that is used during testing has 10 BHP more than the engine that was used last weekend and was functioning OK. The team is concentrating on the changes to the car, and therefore not focused to set a fast lap time. By now Jos drove about 40 laps, and will continue testing tomorrow. On Thursday, Rubens Barrichello will take over and test on Thursday and Friday.
Several newspapers and magazines reported that the Stewart-Ford team will decide this week about the position of Jos within the team for next week. Curious as we are we asked Jos' manager Huub Rothengatter for a comment, and he stated: "I expect this month (September) to be more clear about the race activities of Jos for next season".
Today, the new Poster Magazine Dutch Devil, was delivered to all members of the Jos Verstappen fanclub.
