On Thursday during the third day of testing in Barcelona, Jacques Villeneuve appeared to be the surprise of the day. At the end of the session after lots of small problems, Villeneuve drove on a new set of tyres, the third time of the day in 1:23.29. Villeneuve was very pleased with the result and stated that despite the technical problems, he had not expected to be in the front at this stage. While others are keen on the driving of Zanardi, Ralph Schumacher is doing a great job. Yesterday he was by almost 1 second the fastest of the day in 1:22.03 and stayed 1.4 sec in front of his team mate.

The new car of BAR could be seen on the Internet but the official press releases will be held in January. BAR will be the first on January the 6th, followed by Stewart, Arrows, Williams, Benetton, Sauber, Minardi, Prost and Ferrari. The teams of Jordan en McLaren are expected to follow short after in February.
