First Saturday training

Published on 28 June 2003 by Huub Rothengatter

Dark clouds over the Nurburgring would suggest that it could start raining, but it stayed dry. The times were about the same as Friday's free practice.

At the end of the session it was Panis again who put his Toyota up front. Almost a full second ahead op Rubens Barrichello, who had the fastest time at that moment. The difference between the two would indicate that Toyota has found an excellent race setup.

During the whole session near enough all drivers drove their laps without hickups. Most spectacular were Heidfeld and Da Matta who both blocked their font tyres and went straight ahead in the first cornet. Both continued their lap.

The Minardi's are on 19 and 20. It seems that not everything went smoothly for them, Jos only drove 9 laps. Later today Jos probably will explain why.
