Tyrrell was satisfied about the race last weekend, despite Jos' retirement due to a defective fuel pump. The team has made a positive move forward and wants to build on this on their return to Europe. The aerodynamic changes to the car have proven succesful and the team has declared to make some more aerodynamic adjustments to the car before the San Marino GP. On top of that Cosworth hopes to have the new ED5 engine ready before the next GP.

Teamboss Eddie Jordan has told Ralf Schumacher that it should never ever again happen that he pushes teammate Giancarlo Fisichella who was in front of Ralf off the track. If Ralf had been more careful than Fisichella could have become third and Ralf wuold still be fourth. The drivers have shaken hands again afterwards. On top of that the Jordan mechanics didn't cheer for Ralf when he passed the finish line to protest against the fact that teamboss Eddie Jordan had cut prize money.

Another German, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, has also been criticized by his team. According to Williams-Renault Frentzen wrecked his clutch at the start of the race. Patrick Head seems to have exclaimed: "What is he doing now again?" Teammate Jacques Villeneuve doesn't understand it either. "Williams-Renault is not a team to celebrate your holiday. The car is perfect, I don't know of any problems that could exist".
