Jacques Villeneuve has won the British Grand ...

Jacques Villeneuve has won the British Grand Prix, Jean Alesi was second and Alexander Wurz was surprisingly second. The rest of the points were divided among David Coulthard, Ralf Schumacher and Damon Hill who became sixth in the last minutes due to the extra pitstop of Fisichella and the retirement of Nakano. Michael Schumacher was leading the race for a long time but retired with a smoking left rear wheel. Mika Hakkinen who then was leading retired with a blown-up engine.

Jos sadly had to retire with a blown-up engine while driving on 14th position, Salo retired one lap earlier with exactly the same problem. The other two Ford engines didn't last a complete race distance too. Michael Schumacher is still in the lead in the World Championship Title but Jacques Villeneuve is now only 4 points behind.
